Jan Dismas Zelenka: Missa Omnium Sanctorum

Conducted by: Václav Luks, soprano: Delia Agúndez, alto: Kamila Mazalová, tenor: Václav Čížek, bass: Jaromír Nosek

There is no better way to start the 20th edition of the Concentus Moraviae festival than with the last mass of Jan Dismas Zelenka, the Mass for the Feast of All Saints. Zelenka has been rediscovered over the past decades as one of the most fascinating Baroque composers. His scores flourish with harmonic inventiveness and the colours of the Czech folk music have managed to pass into a broader international context through his works. Václav Luks and Collegium 1704 have Zelenka's music in their blood and present the Mass in its real splendour: as a genuine musical celebration of faith.
